Osim dugih odgovora, moguće je kratko odgovoriti na pitanja s DO/DOES. Kratki odgovor se uvijek sastoji od 3 riječi. Mogu se samo zamjenice koristite (I, you, he, she, it, we, they).

Do your friends live in London?

→ Yes, they do./ No, they don't. (kratki odgovor)

→ My friends live in London. (dugi odgovor)

Does Emma play tennis?

→ Yes, she does. /No, she doesn't. (kratki odgovor)

→ Emma plays tennis. (dugi odgovor)

Pravilo: Do/Does + osoba + glagol (osnovni oblik) + ostatak + ?

Do / does su pomoćni glagoli = pomažu da se napravi upitni oblik rečenice
